Family Learning/Family Care

10/06/2021

Hello Everyone,

We hope that you enjoyed your week off over half term. Recently all of our pupils undertook a Wellbeing Survey. When we have looked at this survey information we have decided that the children will be undertaking some more work on Growth Mindset in the classroom.

We thought that it may be useful for our families to also find out a little bit about what we mean by Growth Mindset and how you can support our pupils at home with this work too. We have found this excellent information on the website below and thought we would share with you.

https://www.mindsetworks.com/parents/growth-mindset-parenting

We also have found a great online learning opportunity for our families to help children to learn and how we can encourage this at home. Please see the following link.

Enjoy the weekend.

Intergenerational Project

Some of our pupils are visiting Pendine to spend time with the residents doing a range of activities such as Art and Storytelling. It is an amazing  experience and each time I take the pupils there I feel deeply proud of them. They have fostered wonderful connections with the residents  and according to the staff at Pendine the residents thoroughly enjoy their time with the children and greatly look forward to their visits.  Mrs O’Toole

Pizza Perfection

Last week ten children and parents/grandparents visited Plas Coch for a wonderful pizza making session. They designed their own pizzas, learnt how to expertly stretch and spin the dough and then they created topping filled pizzas. We were amazed at how many toppings some children could fit on their pizza bases! It was lovely to see families learning together and having fun. We are hoping to run more pizza making mornings in the near future. Mrs O’Toole and Mrs Edge

Christmas Crafternoon

Children from Year 3 and 4 will have the opportunity to work with members of their family to create a range of Christmas cards and decorations. We will let you know how it all goes.
